-anything below 1.0 the schools do not have to pay you benefits
--> .4, .5, or even .9 {pay you .4, .5, .9 percentage of the full time salary]
-you can work on different deals to make something full time and if you cannot do that then WALK AWAY!
-NEVER LET THEM SEE THAT YOU ARE DESPERATE!!
-be sure to look at the cost of living when you look at pay
-ask if schools will pay for conferences or M.A.

-go to JOB FAIRS


Private vs. Public

-public schools have unions and private schools do not. -private schools you get paid less -private schools do not have to take state assessments, so you can have more freedom in some situations but in others you cannot -public schools tend to have a step scale when it comes to pay and private schools do not always have that

-BE PERSISTENT! --> how bad do you really want it!?!


Subbing

-In most public schools you have to have a degree to be a substitute teacher, but in some private schools you do not have need to have a degree to get on the but list
-it is a great way to get experience and make connections
